On Friday, May 23, 2026, Zijin Rosebel Gold Mines N.V. hosted its first Outstanding Employee Recognition Ceremony since the establishment of the mine 22 years ago. Held at the Royal Torarica Ballroom, the event brought together management, employees, family members, union representatives, event organizers, and business partners for a historic evening dedicated to recognition, appreciation, and unity.
Approximately 200 employees and family members attended the ceremony, which marked a significant milestone in the company’s history and reflected management’s continued commitment to recognizing the people who contribute daily to the success and development of the operation.
Following a rigorous process involving nominations, comprehensive evaluations, and public review, the Company recognized:
• 117 Outstanding Employees
• 14 Outstanding Teams
• 1 Outstanding Partner
Award recipients represented a broad cross section of the organization, including employees from mining operations, processing, maintenance, geology and exploration, logistics, security, warehousing, camp services, administration, and office departments.
Among the awardees were equipment operators, mechanics, engineers, technicians, security personnel, cooks, laundry staff, cleaners, and many others whose dedication and professionalism continue to strengthen the operation.
Throughout the evening, management emphasized that despite the different roles and responsibilities across the organization, all award recipients shared four important qualities:
• Strong safety awareness
• Outstanding performance
• Excellent teamwork
• Reliable attendance and discipline
In his address during the ceremony, General Manager Joe Liu described the evening as a “historic and truly meaningful moment” for Rosebel Gold Mines.
“Tonight is a special moment,” he stated. “Not only because we have gathered here to honor our Outstanding Employees 2025, but also because this is the first ceremony of its kind in 22 years.”
Mr. Liu congratulated all award recipients and expressed gratitude not only to employees, but also to the family members who continue to support them behind the scenes.
“None of these achievements would be possible without the silent support and sacrifices made by employees’ families behind the scenes,” he said.
During the ceremony, management reinforced the company’s cultural vision of “respecting the strivers and recognizing the value creators” as a core spirit of the new Rosebel.
The speech also highlighted the company’s belief that people are far more than simply “human resources.”
“People are not human resources; they are human beings,” Mr. Liu shared during the address. “Therefore, they should not merely be managed, but led, developed, respected, and inspired.”
Management further emphasized that sustainable operational excellence can only be achieved when employees feel valued, respected, motivated, and supported.
Safety remained one of the evening’s strongest themes. While reflecting on the challenges faced throughout the year, management acknowledged the difficult realities experienced across the operation, including the tragic loss of a contractor colleague during the past year.
“This once again serves as a profound reminder that: No Safety, No Excellence,” Mr. Liu stated.
He further stressed that safety is not only the responsibility of one department, but of every individual working within the operation.
Throughout the ceremony, management repeatedly emphasized that safety awareness, safety culture, and safety responsibility remain the most important standards within the company’s recognition system and future vision.
In addition to recognizing employee excellence, management also shared a broader vision for the future development of Rosebel Gold Mines. During the presentation, attendees viewed images and videos showcasing Zijin Mining Group operations around the world and the future direction envisioned for Rosebel as a “Beautiful and Smart” modern mining operation.
Management outlined several planned investments aimed at improving both operational efficiency and employee living conditions across the mine site.
Among the improvements highlighted were:
• Construction of new asphalt roads throughout the operation
• Expansion of water wells and upgraded water treatment facilities
• Development of a new kitchen facility with expanded meal options
• Construction of a standard football field and indoor sports complex
• New office and accommodation buildings
• Greening initiatives throughout the camp and plant areas
• A major network infrastructure upgrade project to improve internet connectivity across the mine site
Management also shared plans for a future Family Visit Program, which would invite selected family members to visit the operation site and experience firsthand where employees work and live.
The evening featured award presentations, entertainment, dinner, and moments of reflection that celebrated the dedication, professionalism, and fighting spirit demonstrated by employees across all areas of the organization.
The successful execution of the event was made possible through the collaboration and support of multiple departments and teams who contributed to the planning, logistics, communications, photography, coordination, and overall organization of the ceremony.
As the ceremony concluded, management once again congratulated all award recipients and encouraged all “Rosebelers” to continue working together toward a stronger future for the company.
“I firmly believe that RGM will become a modern international mining operation that is safe and stable, environmentally friendly, operationally efficient, beneficial to local communities, a source of pride for employees, and full of vitality,” Mr. Liu stated.
The 2025 Outstanding Employee Recognition Ceremony not only celebrated the achievements of employees and teams, but also reinforced the company’s ongoing commitment to safety, people development, operational excellence, and building a stronger future together.
“Beautiful and Smart,” Mr. Liu concluded.
“Grang tangi, Grang tangi, Grang tangi.”
