RCF Guidelines
The Rosebel Community Fund (RCF) focus areas include:
- Socio-economic development
- Education
- Health
- Environment
- Sport
- Culture and art
Entities that may be eligible for financing of projects by RCF include:
- Local community authorities / local communities
- Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)
- Non-profit organizations
- Research institutes
- Charitable non-profit organizations involved in education, social services or environmental and/or health activities
- Educational institutions
- Associations
* Religious or politically affiliated organizations, as well as organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, gender, ethnicity or religion, are not eligible to be financed.
* Special guidance available for the Rosebel communities of interest.
FINANCING APPLICATION GUIDELINES
The Financing applications are subdivided into the following budget categories A, B, and C.
Category A: Projects to be financed up to a maximum amount of $ 2,500.00 (Two thousand five hundred US Dollars)
The application must meet the following conditions:
- The project fits within the RCF objectives and one or more of its areas of focus.
- The project is being carried out in Suriname and falls within the framework of Surinamese legislation.
- The project will not be used to gain political or religious benefit from it.
- The applicant(s) is / are a resident(s) of Suriname.
- Submission of an extract from the Public Foundations Register or the Trade Register of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, if applicable, and not older than 6 months.
Category B: Projects with a minimum amount of $ 2,500.00 (Two thousand five hundred US Dollars) and up to a maximum of USD $ 20,000.00 (Twenty thousand US Dollars)
The application must meet the following conditions:
- The project fits within the objectives of RCF and one or more of its focus areas.
- The project is being carried out in Suriname and falls within the framework of Surinamese legislation.
- The project must be of a sustainable nature and must demonstrate that people can continue independently after the end of the project.
- The project is written on the basis of the “project plan document“. Download here
- The project will not be used to gain political or religious benefit.
- At the request of RCF, the applicant must be able to submit the annual accounts of the past 2 (two) years.
- A personal contribution from the applicant or partnerships with other organizations. This must be stated in the project proposal (note: contribution in kind is also allowed).
- Extract from the foundations register of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry not older than 6 months;
- Copy of bylaws (Legal body);
- Overview of the applicant’s financial budget for the calendar year
- Founding deed/ proof of recognition if the applicant is not a legal person.
Category C: Projects with a minimum amount from $ 20,000.00 (Twenty thousand US Dollars).
- The conditions for application are the same as those in Category B.
- Submission of project proposal for category C: No later than January 30 and/or no later than July 30 of each calendar year.
