Rosebel’s management, employees, contractors, and stakeholders are committed to implementing Zijin Mining’s vision by striving to achieve “zero work fatality and zero occupational diseases” and maintain a high degree of harmony and unity among the environment, the society, and attainment of economic values. This commitment will be integrated into all activities related to and undertaken by our operation.
As of October 2011, Rosebel is OHSAS 18001 certified. OHSAS 18001 is an international health and safety standard designed to further minimize safety risks for employees.
Our employees are at the core of the organization. They determine for a great part whether the operations are safe or unsafe. There are continuous efforts towards increasing companywide awareness on health and safety being implemented by our Medical and Safety departments.
Also, we identify health and safety risks and seek the right control measures for each risk.
Our staff is especially trained to provide advice to colleagues on how to deal with identified risks.
We operate in accordance with our commitment and comply with applicable regulatory requirements on Occupational Health & Safety, regulations, and standards to maintain a compliant operation. We minimize the exposure of employees, contractors, and visitors to health and safety risks by identifying and assessing hazards and formulating and implementing effective responses to emergencies and crises.
