Brokopondo – Drawing Together in Brokopondo – Inspiring Young Talent
On Saturday, August 30, 2025, Zijin Rosebel Gold Mines N.V. was proud to support a special Live Drawing Session in Brokopondo, held as part of the Lions International Peace Poster Contest 2025–2026.
A total of 22 creative children from the region showcased their artistic talents around the theme “Together as One.” Guided by artist Leon Siesa, the children brought their ideas and dreams to life on paper.
During the event, five prizes and one consolation prize were awarded, and each participant received a certificate of recognition for their effort. The three best drawings have been selected to represent Brokopondo at the regional level in November.
We are proud to have reached and inspired children outside of Paramaribo, encouraging their artistic growth and creativity. Supporting young talent and strengthening communities in Brokopondo and beyond remain key priorities in our community engagement efforts.
