CEO’s New Year Address

Dear RGM colleagues and partners,

As we greet the year 2026, I am privileged to deliver my first address as the Chief Executive Officer of Rosebel, fully conscious of my responsibilities. On behalf of the management team, I extend my sincere gratitude to all employees who diligently perform your duties in various capacities, as well as to our partners who support Rosebel through challenging times. Your daily dedication, steadfast commitment, and mutual trust have fostered Rosebel’s continuous advancement within this complex and dynamic context.

Over the past three years, since the acquisition, under the group’s guidance and management’s leadership, Rosebel has experienced a significant “rebirth.” The company has stabilized production, boosted safety, environmental standards, and compliance; improved organizational development and institutional systems; advanced green initiatives; and strengthened community relations. It has transformed losses into consistent profits, demonstrating increasing resilience and sustainability, and has become a vital part of Zijin’s gold business. These results weren’t achieved overnight but were built through concrete actions and incremental progress, establishing a strong foundation for Rosebel’s new phase.

Today, I accept this role not just as a transition, but as a serious responsibility. With a clear vision ahead, our strategy is now more focused: we will align closely with the group’s strategic goals, strengthen organizational capabilities, and continually improve quality, production, cost management, and efficiency. Together, we strive to make Rosebel a leading example for Zijin Mining’s overseas operation, establishing a sustainable development model that endures over time.

To achieve this goal, we must firmly adhere to Zijin Mining’s fundamental strategy and long-term pursuit: to build A Green, High-tech, World-leading Mining Company, fulfill the mission of Mining for A Better Society, and uphold the principle of Safety First, Environment Priority.

I am convinced that ideas can only take hold when they are converted into clear and consistent actions. To this end, I wish to underscore several principles to which we should all adhere:

First, prioritize safety as the foundation, ensuring environmental protection and compliance are maintained at all times. Second, take a problem-focused, results-oriented stance, using data and performance metrics to improve operational quality continuously. Third, uphold respect for value creators, ensure that resource allocation is more inclined toward the strivers, and advance the reform. Fourth, pursue common development to build a stable, progressive, and sustainable community shared with employees, local communities, and Suriname. Fifth, emphasize value creation for all, transforming every investment into concrete outcomes.

Guided by these principles, I will focus on four main areas in the upcoming period: Firstly, I will conduct field visits to frontline operations and grassroots units to systematically evaluate current mine conditions, pinpointing critical bottlenecks and challenges. Secondly, I will collect detailed feedback from all business units and departments to clarify development priorities and identify actionable solutions. Thirdly, I will lead the management team and key personnel in collaborative efforts to develop and implement a high-quality 2026 work plan that aligns with the Group’s objectives. Lastly, I will tackle systemic issues through landmark projects, emphasizing delivering measurable progress and tangible results within this year.

I firmly believe that RGM’s greatest asset is our professional, pragmatic, and resilient team. The mine’s growth has never been a one-time success but rather the result of long-term accumulation, systematic advancement, and continuous innovation. As an ancient wisdom reminds us: “Step by step, the journey is made; drop by drop, the mighty rivers are laid. (不积跬步,无以至千里;不积小流,无以成江海)” Every standardized operation, every round of cost optimization, every risk elimination, and every process improvement… each solid step we take lays the foundation for long-term development.

A new phase has commenced, and new tasks have been initiated. As long as we share the same objectives, act in concert, and remain united in purpose, we are certain to transform pressure into motivation and challenges into progress.

This New Year, I sincerely wish everyone good health, happiness with family, and career growth! Let us collaborate and stay grounded as we co-create a new chapter in Rosebel’s development.

Thank you!
