On February 17, 2026, Rosebel Gold Mines N.V. (RGM) organized a vibrant Carnival Festival to celebrate Chinese New Year, internationally known as the Spring Festival. The event marked the welcoming of the Year of the Horse and brought employees together in a joyful and meaningful atmosphere.
The celebration aimed to promote cultural appreciation, strengthen unity, and encourage positive energy within the organization. The Year of the Horse symbolizes strength, determination, and progress, values that closely align with RGM’s vision and commitment to excellence.
The venue was beautifully decorated with red lanterns, festive banners, and traditional ornaments, creating a lively and welcoming environment. From the moment guests arrived, the spirit of celebration could be felt throughout the area, setting the tone for a memorable day.
One of the most distinctive features of this year’s edition was the introduction of traditional Chinese games, which added a unique cultural dimension to the program. Activities such as the Ancient Chinese Pitch-Pot Game (Touhu), Hitting the Gong, Picking Up Ping Pong Balls with Chopsticks, Ring Toss, Shuttlecock Kicking (Jianzi), and Chinese Jump Rope allowed participants to experience authentic traditions in an engaging and interactive way. These games were warmly received and generated great enthusiasm among employees.
The program was carefully structured and divided into several parts to ensure a smooth and dynamic flow. It officially began with an Opening Ceremony and a short keynote speech, followed by a Talent Show, a raffle, and an Open Mic session under the theme “Show Your Talent.” The celebration concluded with a spectacular Firework Show, which left a lasting impression on all attendees.
The entire program was professionally guided by the Master of Ceremonies, Romano Wip, who skillfully connected each segment and maintained a high level of energy and engagement throughout the event.
Another highlight of the celebration was the raffle, which featured a wide range of attractive prizes. These included shopping coupons, Xiaomi Redmi Watches, portable keychain power banks, 4-in-1 foldable magnetic wireless charging stations, espresso-to-go thermos mugs, branded hats, foldable umbrellas, polo shirts, and wooden horse keychains. The variety of prizes added excitement and encouraged enthusiastic participation.
Participants also enjoyed a selection of traditional dishes and refreshments, which added a flavorful and social dimension to the event. Sharing meals created valuable opportunities for colleagues to connect and strengthen relationships in a relaxed and friendly setting.
Employees from various departments attended the festival, reflecting strong engagement and enthusiasm. Many participants expressed their appreciation for the initiative, emphasizing the importance of celebrating cultural heritage and diversity within the workplace.
Overall, the Spring Festival 2026 Carnival Celebration was a great success. It reinforced RGM’s values of respect, collaboration, and inclusion, while inspiring employees to move forward with renewed motivation and confidence in the Year of the Horse.
